This is the image of San Fermin, the saint patron of Pamplona, Spain , in whose honour each year the city celebrates its traditional fiesta, known all around the world because of the running of the bulls. But the fiesta is not only about the bulls.
The 7th of July, the saint is the main protagonist. There is a Mass in its church and a festive procession thru the streets of the old quarter with thousands of people clothed in white with red bandanas, applauding and singing during San Fermin’s “walk” on its city.
It’s impressive. Something worth to be seen.
This year, the Pope Francis decided to proclaim a Jubilee for San Fermin because it’s the 300 anniversary of the Consecration of his chapel. So next 7th July will be more solemn and more festive than ever, if that’s possible.
